Broke Show WAS awesome!

I called it weeks ago, the show was great. All elements were great, spoken word, dance, acting, all good. And the crew, although a bit small at times, was great as well.
I can’t comment on everything that went on, but I have to mention a few things. First, if you need help on ANYTHING, call Eric, ’cause I’m pretty sure he ran a little bit of everything over the course of the show. And second, I found out how Kevin is always so cool and calm no matter what the situation. He has a personal fan in the “bat cave”!! This explains the wind blown hair (I thought he came on a motorcycle).
Anyway, great show everybody, see you at the scene, tell your friends!

Everybody sign up to help with something if you can and keep your ears open for others, especially sound people.

4/15/09, the Vegetarian Scene

Great Scene last Wed. We discussed the “Traditionalist” and “Ascetic”
Great question about our sacrifice today compared to that of early Christians, makes you think (and you should blog about those thoughts!) Anyway, everybody read sections 6&7 and come 4/29.

P.S. Was there a bet that I could get the first person I made contact with to come check out the production team? I have made contact and we are working out a time for them to see what we do on a Sunday morning. So game on! Double or nothing that they will join the Scene?

Recently Hatched Mission Statements

At our last meeting we brainstormed about possible mission statements for Mosaic Live Production. Here are a few possibilities that we came up with:

Mission Statement Version 1:

A community of production artists at Mosaic committed and passionate about using our gifts and talents to create experiences so that others can encounter the beauty and love of Christ.

Mission Statement Version 2:

A community of production artists committed and passionate about using our gifts to orchestrate, create, and execute productions of beauty so that others can encounter the love of Christ.

Slogan/tagline:

Live Production- Chaos to beauty.

What do you think? Do you like one version better than the other? What about the tag line?

Getting People to the Scene…

How do you guys think we will get more of our production staff to the Scene? After all, we’re going to eventually going to find we have no new people to share their stories – our favorite part!

What would work to get people to know how awesome it is?

Word of mouth? Showing pictures of the amazing food? Inviting people at the group prayer time?

BBQ on June 28th! Save the date!!

Hey guys! SAVE THE DATE!!

As a follow up for Backstage Pass and as a fun summer treat, we have having a Production BBQ on Saturday, June 28th! The time is TBA. It will be at Morgan Price’s (Pasadena director) house in Covina. He and his wife (Ryan) have a beautiful, spacious house complete with a small in-home theater room! (Vince, you would LOVE it!) We’ll be doing BBQ and a movie.

I would also like to take this moment to say: Love is born at these types of events.

If you don’t believe me, you can just ask Vince and Krysta who met at a Director’s BBQ last July. It was love at first sight and they’ve been together for 9 months! :)   You also make a lot of fun non-romantic friends, too, of course. :) Save the date and get ready for summertime fun!

Choose a New Day for The Scene

Due to some scheduling issues, we are looking for a new day of the week to have our meetings. The options are, Wednesday, the opposite Thursdays from the ones we do now, or Tuesdays (not optimal and programs for Sunday are often not set yet). What do you think? Click “Take the Poll” below to cast your vote!
